New Year's Eve.

Well it's that time of the year again. The end of it. Yay.

On another note, Disney is releasing Beauty & the Beast back into theaters. It's in 3D, just like every other movie that's been made since 2010.

This is my cat. Before you say it (like all my friends do) I will not be forever alone.

Oooh, Taylor Swift!

I curled my hair today with my sister's curling iron! it's amazing, the curls have stayed in for a few hours now! My hair is naturally straight as a board, so this is fantastic. :)

Also, I like England. And milk. Which is what's in the mug. Don't judge.


Right now -- About to play Just Dance 3 on kinect. Such a great work out.

The time has come.

On another note, a song off of the Hunger Games Soundtrack was released and it's making me even more excited for the movie; I didn't think that was possible.
It's called "Safe and Sound" by Taylor Swift and The Civil Wars. I love them both, and the fact that they are both singing a song for a story that I love, makes me love all three even more. (: Notice how I said "story" that I love. As excited for the movie as I am, I can't say I love it quite yet. I learned that lesson through Twilight.


Okay, so my theory of when the song will be played in the movie is as follows:
- Right after Katniss and Peeta are announced victors of the games, and the hovercraft materializes and they are taken into it. Basically all the commotion that went on after they won, like from the moment they won through when Peeta is having his surgery and Katniss is watching helplessly, and til when things settle down and Katniss and Peeta are alone for the first time. Maybe a little before that.
- However, another option would be when they are in the cave and she's healing him. Maybe the last night right before they go find Cato.
- The last option is what most people think, that it'll be played in the credits. which is entirely possibly, but I hope not. It's such a good song.

Christmas Eve!

It's Christmas Eve, and not a stir in the house. Not a sound, not even a mouse...

I think I misquoted that.
Yesterday was  Christmas Adam! :) This is the first year in a long time that I'm actually excited about Christmas morning that I don't think I can sleep. And I don't know why.

Right now -- Watching It's A Wonderful Life, by myself. Forever Alone... dangit.

Downtown Atlanta BRO

Today was fun, I went to the city! My dad works down there and needed to get a few things from his office, so I went with him. We ate lunch at this little place called Just Around the Corner, so cool. The food was pretty good, and it was so small, and such a hole-in-the-wall sandwich shop. Loved it!
Then we went to Centennial Park and walked around. It was so pretty and decorated for Christmas, and the lights weren't even on yet! I can't even imagine how beautiful it looks at night. I took a picture of a huge Christmas tree that was all lit up, but my phone messed it up and you can't even see the lights. :(
Well, it eventually started misting then a light rain, and we had to get back to his office then the parking garage really fast. We got pretty wet... not so fun.
But hey, what's life without a little adventure?

And now I'm going through some old CDs (which is an adventure in itself!) and through my stuff that I didn't take to college. Boring!

I love my Grandmother.

Today, my Grandmother said the funniest thing.
We were eating lunch after church, and it was me, my sister, and my parents at the table with her. The conversation had just died and it was quiet when my grandmother asked my sister a question in the most casual way.


"What are you doing today bluehead?"


I almost died laughing, because for those of you who don't know my sister, she dyed the front of her hair blue.

Home Sweet Home

Well hello there.
The reason I have not been blogging is because of two reasons.
#1. I recently went home from college for the holidays. Winter break as some call it.
#2. I began reading the Hunger Games series.

I am happy to inform you all that I've finished. Today, obviously, because I am back in reality.

I've realized that's the problem with me and reading good books. It's because when I read them, I become so completely consumed by them that all previous priorities go out the window. I find no real need to sleep, eat, or really talk to anyone because I'm so caught up in the book and what's happening within it's pages. It's crazy, but sadly true. And that's what's happened with the Hunger Games, and I'm glad to have finally finished them. Is it weird that I've had to constantly remind myself that everything I was reading was fiction, that Peeta was fiction, not a real person, the events weren't real?

So now that I'm finally free, I can feel my real break starting! Running in the mornings, hanging out with friends and family during the days. My sister Lindsay had suggested that I start a YouTube channel and become a star. She says that people on the internet are much more accepting to awkward people than anyone else. I think I might investigate if this is true. Hmm.

Stress = GONE!

After all my finals and a very good conversation that God just completely blessed and calmed my nerves about, my mind is FREE for the first time in weeks!
So in celebration of stress and classes being over, most importantly about Geology being over, we (my best friend Leah, Valerie, Damond, Dalis, and Kevin) all burned our notes and books that we couldn't return. Okay well only me Leah and Val burned stuff, everyone else was just there for support.
Overall, it was a fun night, and it felt so good, SO GOOD to watch each sheet of paper, each long sheet, each cross section, each map BURN. In fact, I was so happy about burning my geology stuff that my friends were worried about me around fire. We had lighter fluid and I wasn't allowed to use it... but it's okay, I'm not sure if I would even let myself use it.

me: Wanna watch Crazy, Stupid Love?
leah: who's in it?
me: Steve Carrell, Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling...
Leah: YES LET'S WATCH RYAN GOSLING.

A Little About Me...

Well, my name is eKayla, except for the "e" is silent. No one ever understands that and comes up with funny names for me like eharmony and ecoli. And when I say funny I mean annoying.
I've always wanted to start a blog, and I feel like the end of finals week of my third semester in college seems like a good time to start recording my awkward moments and such! I have quite a few, in fact my friend Damond has this "perfect" description of me that he apparently uses to tell people if they forgot who I am. Here it is. Tall, awkward, skinny, white girl with blonde hair. And not surprisingly people know who I am based off of that. 
But anyways, this is only the beginning of an awkward blog series! Not sure if that's correct terminology but whatever, I just made it up so it is now! :)
